Molly's 100k to rescue street children in Kenya · 14 October 2020

Today, your wonderful kindness can help rescue and restore children like Harry through our Urgent Rescue Centre in Kenya. Without the intervention of our team children like Harry are left to fend for themselves

Story

My Name's Molly Charles and I've been part of Catch the Fire London for the last few years. That's where I found out about Kenyan Children's Project, which was birthed 15 years ago through the life and mission of our church. When I received the last email that Kenyan Children's Project sent telling me they were running out of money and needed help as there were so many more children who were in need of our help, I felt a tug in my heart that said: "what can I do to help?" I had almost finished a September 10k challenge and the idea just came to me (which I believe was a God idea 😍 ) to walk 100k steps to raise as much money as possible so this incredible charity can keep rescuing and restoring children like Martha (pictured) and Harry. In James 1:27 it says "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble..."

I want to help the Kenyan Children's Project reach more children. They rescue those at risk, provide care and counselling, and then find their families and work alongside them, giving them the help and support they need to care for and provide for their own children again. I think this is pretty incredible, and it would be desperate for these children if this work couldn't continue.

Together, we can rescue and restore children like Harry and Martha to healthy families through The Kenyan Children Project's Urgent Rescue Centre.

Without their life-saving work, children are left to fend for themselves and with the impact of COVID-19 are at even greater risk of further abuse, exploitation, trafficking and even starvation.

The need is so much greater as food and work have become scarce due to COVID-19. The charity has doubled the number of children they can care for, and now they're running out of money.

I've decided to do everything I can to help. Please support me!
