WHY GIVE TO THE Y:

The East Belleville has partnered with Belleville District
118 to provide a customized YMCA Safety Around Water Program. With this
partnership, the Y will be teaching every third grader in the district basic
water safety stills, introducing them to basic concepts of swim lessons, and
other life saving techniques, even to help save others. About 115 students are
enrolled for the fall program with another 220 projected in the spring of 2022.
If we were to charge the non-member rate for these lessons, at $44 per child it
would come out to be about $15,000 for the entire 2021-2022 school year
program. With your support, to the YMCA’s Strong Community Campaign, we can
continue to not only serve the Belleville School District 118 but expand the
program to every 3rd grader in the East Belleville service area.
