Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!!

In August 2021 I plan to climb 5895m to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation, a charity which aims to research and raise awareness of Meningitis and Septicaemia.

Shockingly, Meningitis can severely disable and even kill its victims in under 12 hours, making it the second biggest infections killer of children under the age of five in the world, and affecting more than 2.8 million people every year. The disease most prominently affects small children and young adults, particularly students, making it an illness that although perhaps isn't spoken about enough, hits very close to home.

But - Meningitis is incredibly preventable, and the Meningitis Research Foundation are hoping to eradicate the disease completely by 2030 with the help of donations such as these!

Stay tuned for my journey as I take on this incredible challenge and push myself beyond my limits as I take on my final year at Exeter. I'm excited to take this on and I'd like to thank you in advance for your support! :) x

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
