Bibi was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in 2018 at 2 years old. She was clever, sarcastic and absolutely fierce. She captured everyone's hearts with her larger-than-life personality and sense of fun.

Story

Molly will be joining Burpees for Bibi in September. She's not one to do things the easy way though so there's a twist...

Burpees for Bibi, the Paddleboard Edition.

Molly will be continuously burpee-ing on a paddleboard for at least 10 minutes.

And to take it up a notch, if you make a more spicy donation then she is happy for you to request additional minutes of burpees or other exercises all to be completed on a paddleboard off the coast of Weymouth or Portland.

And, for a donation of £20 you can join her on the challenge. Now there's an offer you can't refuse! (We will of course pick a calm and sunny day towards the end of the month!)

Why is she doing this?

At two and a half, Beatriz suddenly became very clingy and unhappy. Her parents thought it was just a phase. But she was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer that has a 40-50% chance of long-term survival.

Her family are raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for further treatment, either to get their daughter into remission or to try and keep the cancer away if treatment does go to plan.

Bibi's family are fundraising for treatment called the Bivalent Vaccine that aims to train the immune system to identify and destroy neuroblastoma cells lurking in the body after chemotherapy. The treatment involves a series of injections spread over five years.
You can read more about it here:
At the moment it is only available at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.
A few people have asked why we have to pay for these treatments and why the NHS is not funding them. The simplest reason is that they are still in trial phase. The results look extremely promising but until the trial is complete and the results are in the NHS can't justify spending money on it.
The reason it's so expensive is, well, America.
Hopefully soon all of these treatments will be available in the UK, but for now we have our amazing team of fundraisers and supporters to help get Bibi to New York!
