Story
In spite of ongoing injuries I am committing to crossing the finish line at Ironman 70.3 Weymouth on 18th September 2022, to help Team ESTEEM reach their goal.
I have always believed in the connection between body and mind and know from personal experience that resilience is something you've got to keep working at - and there is no better way than building resilience through taking part in personal challenges.
I have done my fair share of marathons and half marathons - but this is the first time I am attempting an Ironman 70.3 - which is swimming 1.9km, cycling 90km and finishing off with a half marathon run (21.1km)
On 26th September ESTEEM are facilitating a trip to France for 15 young adults. This trip will involve overcoming personal and physical challenges, some of the challenges massive - but in spite of this - these young people are committed and rearing to go.
Every step they will take on their Pyrenees adventure, will be building their self confidence, their belief in themselves, benefiting both their physical and mental health.
The young people have also been raising money themselves towards the cost of the trip - which they all have but are still short. So I am pledging to support them with their last bit of fundraising which will mean the world to them and the team.
The total cost of the trip of £5500 includes the full cost to the organisation including staff hours, and safeguarding on-call - Can you help us reach our target?
