We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.
Story
I spent 24 years of my life calling running the devil’s exercise, then thepandemic hit and in order to stay sane I started running. To be honest… I still hate it. But this really isn’t about me, but rather the amazing charity - CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), which works to prevent suicide.
Every week, 125 people in the UK decide to take their own life and 75% of those are male. CALM works to reach as many people as possible to challenge stereotypes and the stigma that prevents people from talking about suicide and seeking help when they need it.
Exactly 10 years ago my uncle, godfather, and just all around amazing man took his own life. He jumped in front of a train. I will never be able to understand what he must have gone through to end up in a place, where he felt there was no way out. Nothing will bring him back, but in his memory, I want to try to raise awareness to stop others from feeling like there is no other way.
Please donate. Having started to train I can confirm - it’s hell but it’s worth it for an amazing cause, please help me support it.
