Thanks to Covid our Moroccan monkey run event was officially scuppered and we are now back to the original adventure. Behold, The Rickshaw Run. Brought to you by, The Adventurists. Their mission is to make life less boring, whilst also saving the world (i.e. raising money for worthy causes).

Kneel before engineering’s highest life form; the Rickshaw. If God made machines he probably wouldn’t have bothered with a Rickshaw. But he would have been wrong. Essentially, it’s not a very good idea. They are not very fast, they smell, they fall over when you go round corners and break down more often than a 3 year old. But somehow, all this makes them better. 

Sri Lanka is rammed with off road tracks, mountain roads, jungles, elephants, beaches, and remote national parks. There’s no set route, no back-up, and no way of knowing if we are going to make it. The only certainty is that we will get lost, we will get stuck, and we will break down. 

On 17th March 2022, we will be squashing ourselves into our pimped out rickshaws and driving 9 days (ish) roughly 650km across the island for a hell of a good cause! For this trip we will be raising money for a charity close to our hearts, Mind. 

Nobody should face a mental health problem alone. Mind provides advice, information, and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
