Story

Monmouth Male Voice Choir - Cor Meibion Mynwy

Currently approximately 145,000 individuals in the U.K.
have received a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. That's
around 1 adult in every 350.

Two years ago one of our members in Monmouth Male Voice Choir
informed us that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Choir members suggested we held a fundraising concert for the charity Parkinson's UK. The key decision was whether to hold a concert at a local venue in Monmouth or at a larger concert hall which could potentially raise more funds. We decided that this cause deserved our fullest commitment and we should aim for a high quality concert venue.

We are delighted to have secured the world renowned Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama for this important event.  The concert will take place on 30th May 2020 at 7:30. In addition to this prestigious venue we have also been able to secure the support of four young singers from the Royal Welsh College currently studying on the MA Opera course - Rosie Rowell, Lewis Ham, Freya Holliman and Jack Bowtell. We are very pleased that this concert is also an opportunity
for Monmouth Male Voice Choir- Cor Meibion Mynwy to promote young musical talent in Cardiff.

We ask you to support our appeal for Parkinson's UK by donating
through Just Giving. We also hope you can come to the concert and enjoy a wonderful evening of music. Tickets can be purchased through the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

All donations through Just Giving go directly to Parkinson's UK to
support their work in seeking a cure for this disease and highlighting the
effects it has on those with the condition, their families and carers.

this vital cause.

Cor Meibion Mynwy

Ar hyn o bryd tua 145,000 o bobl un y DU sy’n dioddef o Parkinson’s Disease. Hynny yw tua un oedolyn ym mhob 350.

Dwy flynydd yn ol dwedodd un o’n haelodion yng Nghor Meibion Mynwy fod e wedi cael diagnosis o glefyd Parkinsons. Awgrymodd aelodion y cor y  dylen ni gynnal cyngerdd i godi arian I elusen Parkinsons UK. Y brif gwestiwn wedyn oedd os dylen ni fynd am leoliad lleol yn Nhrefynwy neu neuadd fwy a allai godi mwy o arian. Penderfynwyd bod yr achos hwn yn haeddu ein hymroddiad llawn ac y dylen ni anelu at leoliad o’r safon uchaf.

Rydyn ni’n falch iawn bod ni wedi cael defnyddio lleoliad byd-enwog ar gyfer yr achlysur hwn, sef Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru. Yn ogystal dyn ni wedi sicrhau cefnogaeth pedwar cantorion ifainc o gwrs MA Opera y Coleg, sef Rosie Powell, Lewis Ham, Freya Holliman a Jack Bowtell. Mae hi’n fraint a phleser i Gor Meibion Mynwy gael y cyfle i hybu talent gerddorol ifanc yng Nghaerdydd.

Gobeithiwn y byddwch chi’n barod i gefnogi ein apel dros Parkinson’s UK gan roddi trwy Just Giving. Gobeithio hefyd y gallwch chi ddod i’r cyngerdd i fwynhau noson fendigedig o gerddoriaeth. Gallwch chi brynu tocynnau trwy Goleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru https://www.rwcmd.ac.uk.

Bydd  pob rhodd trwy Just Giving yn mynd yn uniongyrchol at Parkinson’s UK i gefnogi eu gwaith i ffeindio ffordd i iachau y
clefyd hwn ac i amlygu ei effeithiau ar y rhai sy’n dioddef, ac ar eu teuluoedd a gofalwyr.
