Story

Martin Green, Shaun Morris and Andy Leck are one of the teams driving through Europe for an event called the Monte Carlo or Bust Rally, which is when around 75 vehicles, each purchased for £500 or less, travel from the UK to Monte Carlo via France, Switzerland and Italy.

All of the donations go to the charity - we're funding the car, tolls, hotels, petrol, dodgy seat covers, paintjob, cheeky beer en route etc...

The rally challenges entrants to source a car for less than £500 and take part in a variety of fun challenges along the way competing for points and prizes. The 3-day crusade will see the bangers visit some of Europe's most exciting locations and experience spectacular roads with backdrops of sun, sea, sand and snow! Previous participants have raised over £300,000 for UK charities and received media coverage on both sides of the Channel. Organisers are confident that the 2017 will be even bigger success!

Rally spokesperson, Cuthbert Ware-Armitage, comments: “I am delighted that a team from Burbage are joining us on Europe’s ultimate banger rally adventure. This is a brilliant opportunity to have an amazing driving experience in one of the worst cars from Burbage!”

About the charity

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.
