Story
In 1975 Andrew cycled from John ‘O’ Groats to Dover in 9 days with a group of other cyclists, then after joining the Regular Army he was medically dIscharged in 1984 after serving from 1975 as a Royal Engineer.
Andrew is a Wheelchair user due to multiple disability’s and health conditions, he uses a special hand trike called a Freedom Ryder (FRH1).
Andrew tries to cycle most days depending on the weather. Andrew and Simon decided to do the Month 500 to raise funds for Motor Nurone Disease (MND). A dear friend and colleague, of Andrew’s, who helped lots of disabled people across Walsall, passed away a few years ago suffering from MND. His name was Ken Whittingham, a true gentleman who thought of others first before himself.
Andrew is cycling the Month 500 with Simon Woodward who is a fellow cycling enthusiast, who also helps lots of people, young and old via charity rides and other events, Andrew will be cycling the Month 500 from 6th September 2021 to 4th October 2021. They will be cycling 500 miles each in one month. Simon will be cycling over a 30 day period as he can only cycle Saturdays from September 1st 2021
Please help them out by giving generously as they cycle Month 500 to support Motor Nurone Disease, (MND) If you see Simon or Andrew, cheer them on with a wave or by sounding your horn. Thank you for your support.
