Story
In September 2017 myself and Gareth will be cycling from Montpelier, in our home city of Bristol, to Montpellier in the south of France for charity. In total it should take us 10 days to complete the route and we'll cover around 1,500km (950 miles). As a reference for UK readers, this is about 161km (100 miles) further than John O'Groats to Lands End!
I will be raising money for World Bicycle Relief, a charity that believes in a world where distance is no longer a barrier to education, healthcare and economic opportunity. Their mission is to provide sustainable, appropriate bicycle transportation to mobilise and empower individuals and communities so they can travel to schools, clinics and markets.
Every donation can make a huge difference to the life of someone in rural Africa and here's an indication of how your generosity can help:
- £15 can cover the cost of a solid wheelset
- £35 can buy a mechanic's toolkit
- £95 will mean an entire Buffalo bike can be given to someone
Of course anything that you can donate will help and rest assured that when I'm 700 miles into the challenge your generosity, and the thought of how your donations will help, will definitely keep my pedals turning!
