Story
Last December my father passed away after a long fight against pulmonary fibrosis. He had worked for most of his architectural career in the design and development of hospitals. He was very proud of his 30+ years service for the NHS and when it came to his illness, the care he received (often at buildings he had worked on during his career) was fantastic. This was then continued by LOROS, a Leicestershire charity providing hospice care that was originally set up with the help of Dad's father (my grandfather, a solicitor).
I am running this year in memory of Robert Montgomery in recognition of his work, his love of Leicester, and in support of the wonderful care provided at LOROS to those in most need.
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
