Help Simon Moore and Steve Hamilton-Shaw raise money for Parkinson's UK

Thames Path Ultra Challenge 2023 · 9 September 2023 to 10 September 2023 ·
Steve and Simon have foolishly engaged themselves in an Ultra Walk of 100k in less than 24 hours in early September. The mission did come together in a pub, admittedly, but it was walking for Parkinson's which was the spark that lit the fire.
Both Steve and Simon have personal stories of their own families and the struggle with Parkinsons; a struggle that so many more senior people suffer with in the UK and around the world.
Simon's father was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2010 - Simon clearly recalls on 26th January of that year, being stood on the triangular intersection between East Cheap and Grace Church street in London, when he received a call from Dad telling him he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. In typical Dad fashion, he also told Simon everything was going to be alright.13 years on his Dad continues to be the ultimate example of optimism as he fights this horrible and debilitating disease. Although it's clear his life is getting harder, he
never lets it show.
Steve's mother was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2016, and it set about changing her life; her ability to move, her independence, cognitively (helped by a side dose of Dementia). But despite all this, 90% of the time, in what became her own world, she remained joyful - still loving listening to music and singing. For the last 5 years her nursing needs required her living in a home - run by magnificent, kind, understanding people that put most of us all to shame. Unfortunately,
in April this year Steve's mother passed away.
So we're walking to help do something about it.
Please help us - and keep us going through the 100k - by donating whatever you can. All is appreciated - by us for motivation, and by Cure Parkinson's and Parkinson's UK for the work they undertake.
