More Radio's Ten Thousand Tins

Ten Thousand Tins · 24 June 2020
2020 has been a challenging year for us all, but for some families the Coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact. After the success of last year, and in response to the ongoing situation, we've decided to bring forward our Ten Thousand Tins campaign this year to support families who are in crisis right now as a result of, or exacerbated by COVID-19.
Once again we've got drop off points located in supermarkets across Sussex so you can donate tins in the same way as last year. However, we understand that everyday life has changed drastically in the last few months, and visiting the supermarket is a very difference experience to what it used to be. We have therefore set up this JustGiving page so you can donate to our appeal contact-free, without even leaving the house.
The Trussell Trust runs 15 food banks across East & West Sussex, as well as the rest of the UK. Last year, food banks in their network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us. With your help this can change.
