Why should you sponsor us?
People first deliver the Hospitality Academy Internship Programme; which provides people with learning difficulties/autism aged 16-24 with the opportunity to gain work experience, skills and qualifications within a Conference Centre with the aim of increasing employment opportunities and social inclusion. With encouragement and pride, the learners contribute in a real and integral way to the running of the professional environment.
Alongside professionals in an active workplace setting, Hospitality Academy learners work in the People First Conference Centre in Carlisle. At the Centre they develop the skills and confidence to thrive in paid employment.
People First believe in a world where each and every individual is treated equally, fairly and where their rights, choices and beliefs are respected. They help people with learning difficulties to live independent lives.
For the first time ever, People First have been lucky to secure a limited number of places in this years Morecambe Bay Walk. By taking part in this walk, we are helping to raise much needed funds and awareness enabling them to support more vulnerable people across the county.
Our target:
We are aiming to hit £70 but would love to raise more for such an incredible cause.
Information about the walk:
We'll start at the lovely Arnside Promenade, take a tour of the stunning Lancashire and Cumbria coastline and then finish at Kent’s Bank, near Grange-over-Sands. The walk is Between 6-9 miles and takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete. The majority of the walk will be over sand, and we will also be required to wade through channels of water, which can be knee or even thigh-high depending on rainfall, so we will be prepared to get wet.
