Sport Relief 2020 - Schools · 31 July 2020 ·
This year, It's Game On with Sport Relief - and every pound counts.I've created this page because I want to make a difference and help take on poverty and injustice. I've been inspired by their work with amazing projects in the UK and across the world that are tackling inequality and changing lives.Sponsor my page by making a donation and help support people living incredibly tough lives here in the UK and around the world.
Our big event will
take place on Friday 13th March 2020! Students will be asked to come to school in their choice of sportswear, but preferable wearing something red in exchange or a £1 donation.
From 8am on the13th until 8am on the 14th both staff and students are going to come together and contribute to a 24hour static cycle which will take place in school! Students will be encouraged to participate in the cycling event in 15min slots from 8am until 8pm. This will not only benefit their physical wellbeing but also their mental health to stimulate their minds for learning. Following on from students, staff will take over at 8pm and will cycle throughout the night the keep the bike going and each individually completing 30min slots! This will all be displayed on a screen so we can keep a record for the distance we have travelled and passers-by can see how well we are doing!!!!! Alongside this event, we will be running inter year group rowing competitions. Students will sign up to participate in a rowing stint – timing of participation depends on their year group! Again this will be continuous and we are looking for the year group that can row the furthest between the school day of 9am and 3pm!!! All lessons will have elements of sports relief within them across the whole curriculum. Alongside this, during the sports relief week, in P.E, students will have the opportunity to participate in sports that they don’t normally get to experience in lessons such as Ultimate Frisbee tournaments and circus skills. P.E lessons have been designed around both competition and enjoyment. This will allow students of all physical ability to get involved and ultimately have fun!!! Improving both their physical and mental health. Learning to come together and be part of a team.
So please dig deep and help us to raise as much as we possibly can for this amazing charity! #TeamMortimer #BetterTogether
