We raise money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On your marks get HATS go ! Gone are the green tutus and yellow wigs from last year, this year we're adding some sparkle ! :-)  The Marsden March is a 14-mile or a 5-mile sponsored walk between The Royal Marsden's hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton. Over the last five years this event has raised an amazing £6.5 million to help build a future beyond cancer. Last year myself and my family walked with the 22nd Wimbledon Scout Group and together we raised nearly £10K.  It was a great experience in itself, but it was also very sobering to see survivors do the walk, groups walking in memory of a loved one, and then to end the walk at the Marsden Hospital - very sobering indeed.

Why ? We all know someone who has lost their battle, someone who has survived, and we all know that it's possibly the thing we fear most. Doing this walk not only helps to raise funds, but it's a moment in our busy lives, for us to remember those no longer with us.

Please sponsor whatever you can - it will make a difference.

And finally it's Niamh's 14th birthday on the day of the walk - another good excuse to donate !
