Dear Ollie,
As a member of the Torridon MRT I'd like to say a massive "thanks" for your huge fundraising effort. What a wonderful tribute to your friend, Chris. - Gerry McPartlin (Member of Torridon Mountain Rescue)
Many thanks indeed Ollie we are most grateful for your efforts and will greatly assist our work as far as Mountain Rescue is concerned. Pleas pass on our sincere thanks to your friends. - Regards Eoghain (Member of Torridon Mountain Rescue)
I am organizing a walk of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in under 12 hours on Saturday 18th June 2011 to help raise funds for the Scottish Mountain Rescue team. It is a 25 mile walk that takes in Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The Torridon Mountain Rescue team helped me after I had been in an avalanche in which my friend Chris Astill died whilst we were mountaineering in Scotland in the winter of 2009/2010.
Below is a link to a Channel 4 programme that documented what happened. Fast forward to 31 mins into the programme.
