Story
Life is like a mountain;
you start at the bottom and there’s a struggle along the way. You have ups and downs, but you get up and make sure you reach the top.
This couldn’t be more true following on from Covid-19. We’ve all faced some tremendous challenges and the pandemic has affected each of us differently. That’s why I’m raising money for Kaleidoscope Plus Group so that I can help support those who have struggled with their mental health.
I’ll be taking on the Khumbu Peaks this October (2022) – climbing in the high of the Himalaya with three mountain ascents of increasing altitude – Lobuche East (6,145m), Island Peak (6,189m), and Mera Peak (6,476m). My mission is to complete all three of these extraordinary mountains in one expedition, which only a few have accomplished to date – Nepal’s greatest challenge!
This mammoth challenge is something I have always wanted to take on and I’ll be training hard in the gym to ensure I am physically fit beforehand. I’ve done the Three Peaks Challenge and all the Snowdon tracks so now it’s time to really challenge myself with the Khumbu Peaks.
The trek will be challenging, not just physically but mentally too so I will be spending some of the trip meditating, thinking of my end goal and my family, as well as the positive impact my fundraising will have on the local community.
People across the UK have been through so much during the pandemic and I’ve had my own mental health struggles so this trek and supporting Kaleidoscope Plus Group means a lot to me.
I will be away for five weeks in total, and it will be a tremendous feat so I hope as many of you as possible will support me on this journey and donate to
KPG.
