Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. This challenge is being undertaken by me(John Taylor), Nick Parker, Mark Lucas and David Brookes (all fellow Tenon colleagues), together with David Bickford of Penningtons and Karen Counterman from Clearview Relocation.
If you are coming to the page via a link from me, you will probably know that Zoe and I were lucky enough to have Jack on 13 June 2000. Unfortunately, due to early onset pre-eclampsia, Jack was born extremely early and when he contracted an infection, he was not strong enough to survive and passed away in the early hours of 15 June 2000.
In 2008 I am 40 and have always said that I would do something to raise some funds for APEC, the UK's only pre-eclampsia charity, despite the fact that it is a condition that affects 10% of pregnancies every year.
I am lucky that some others have decided to join me in my fundraising effort and as some of you will know, we decided to climb Mount Kenya in May 2008. What I suspect you will also know, is that subsequently others have concluded that with its problems, the country of choice for the challenge needed to be changed. After taking some advice, we switched the campaign to Tanzania and are now booked to climb Mount Meru 1-9 July. For those of you that do not know, it is pretty much like Mount Kenya, only in a different country, but still just under 5000m!
We all appreciate that many of you will have chosen charities and congratulate you on this, if it is possible that you could help us with this, each of us will be very grateful.
Of course, anyone wanting to walk with us is welcome, it is only 15000 ft and the chance to do something defining awaits you! Call anyone of us for details and we will take you through the details and see if it is something that you can fit into your schedule.
Thank you for reading this, if you have sponsored one of us, thank you and if you are now thinking of walking with us, thanks even more!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Action on Pre-Eclampsia will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
