Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Did you know that 1 in 6 of us will require Intensive Care Treatment at some point in our lives and during COVID-19 it will be 1 in 10 who contract the virus will require admission?

Tomorrow Friday, 29th May myself, TinTin, Balthazar and our little four legged Sammy are walking 10km to raise money for the small charity the Intensive Care Society which is celebrating its 50th year.  Together with my co-workers from Independent Talent Group, we will be walking, cycling and riding in Scotland to Isle of Wight to London to Gloucestershire to Suffolk to Sussex to Hertfordshire to Wiltshire at 10am.

As a company we have been working closely with this charity as my boss Duncan's great pal Professor Hugh Montgomery (lead Intensivist at the Whittington & Professor of Intensive Care at UCLH) to raise awareness and funds for the ICS.  This small charity run largely by active Intensivists, looks after the wellbeing of the frontline carers in Intensive Care who at the moment are under tremendous pressure and stress.  It is like a war zone for them and they desperately need our help as this is going to become a huge mental health issue for all staff.

The ICS would be forever grateful for any donation, how ever small.  Their website is www.ics.ac.uk for more information.

** Unlike the NHS fundraising this money goes straight to the heart of Intensive care as opposed to the government who give to the NHS Trusts to spend how they see fit
