We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Amongst the global pandemic of Coronavirus, there are vulnerable groups who continue to need support unrelated to covid.

There are people at risk of staying home, leaving symptoms of Stroke untreated, and those leaving hospital early or not accessing the same level of therapy during their recovery. There are also those with Aphasia, or other communication difficulties, who may be feeling further isolated due to covid.

The Stroke Association are working to help support stroke survivors during this difficult time, and will continue to do so long after the virus has gone.

To support them to continue with their great work, and to raise awareness, we pledge to go ahead with 'Make May Purple' and run / move every single day (in purple of course) come rain or shine!!

Hannah and I are going to run at least 1 mile per day, and are aiming for a total of 221 miles in May, which equates to the number of people admitted to Furness General Hospital following a Stroke in 2019.

Please support this great cause in any way you can, a donation of £10 for example will give a stroke survivor access to an Art Therapy group, and any small amount will go towards their vital services such as Helpline.

Thank you.
