MUMHC's Movember

MUMHC Move for Movember · 28 October 2020
At Manchester University Men's Hockey Club, we strongly believe in supporting men's mental health, an issue that is too often brushed under the carpet and rarely discussed. Now, more than ever, there is a need for support. The Movember foundation do amazing work to prevent suicide and are the leading charity changing the face of men's mental health, whilst also tackling deaths and long term effects due to prostate and testicular cancers.
This is why over November, our club members will be growing moustaches and running 60 personal km for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour, with many doing both. Our club is aiming to run the length of the UK (1,407km) in total over the course of the month. In doing so we want to raise as much money for The Movember Foundation as we can and raise awareness that as men, it's okay not to be okay and that it's best to open up! Men make up an overwhelming majority of suicides, with the most affected group being 45-49 years old. It is the leading cause of death for men aged 20-49. People's fathers, partners, brothers and friends are dying far too young and far too often to suicide and cancer. Please donate what you can and help make a difference, the more money raised this Movember, the more vital help the foundation can do to help men win their battles with mental health and prostate and testicular cancers.
