Story
Visualise is a small local charity which was set up in 1992 by the parents of young people who went to the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh. It was a pioneering project to provide them with a warm loving home environment where they could lead the life they chose for themselves. It now also offers day services, support at home and short breaks and respite care for people with physical and sensory impairments, learning difficulties and complex communication support needs.
Based in Edinburgh and East Lothian, Visualise accepts referrals from all over Scotland. While it is small, Visualise is hugely loved by its service users and their families. Its wonderful staff are committed to providing the best care they can for a great group of people. The Marathon route passes near the Restalrig, Leith and Musselburgh facilities, and we hope the Visualise crew will be out to cheer us on!
