The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong health & wellbeing support for the UK fire & rescue community, empowering individuals and families to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. This includes serving and retired firefighters, control and support teams.

Story

RAF Mount Pleasant Fire & Rescue section are undertaking an endurance event in memory of the 343 Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on the 11 Sep 2001, and to pay homage to the lives lost during the September 11th attacks.

Firefighters operating in full PPE with BA worn (Not under air) will complete 2071 steps on the stair master in the Longdon gym. This exercise is to, as closely as possible, replicate the 110 floors of the World Trade Centre Buildings.

The crew will donate all money raised to The Fire Fighters Charity who exist to support the mental, physical and social needs of all serving and retired members of the UK's fire family.
