Bees for Development is the UK-based charity transforming the lives of some of the world's poorest people through beekeeping. We help people to become self-sufficient, always using local bees and local skills. We have helped many thousands of people to keep bees sustainably.

Story

Modern Poetry in Translation's latest issue, I Have Not Known a Grief Like This: Focus on Extinction, gives a platform to poets living with the climate crisis, and looks at the links between biodiversity and language diversity. We are very pleased that Poets for the Planet have asked us to launch it at their sponsored Poem-a-thon, at the Society of Authors, Holborn, London, on 8 February 2020. Our editor Clare Pollard and MPT board members and poets Aviva Dautch and Anna Selby will be reading poems from the issue alongside other eco-poems from 1-1.30pm. Clare Pollard is also running a micro-workshop on translation, and there will be a gala reading by Jacqueline Saphra, Mona Arshi and Hannah Lowe in the evening. Please do consider donating to Bees for Development,
and coming to the Poem-A-Thon on the 8th. Thanks so much!
