Story
Doctors for Nepal (DFN) is a small charity which provides medical school scholarships in Nepal to underprivileged Nepalese students who pledge to work in rural Nepal for an agreed period of time once qualified as doctors.
Healthcare hardly exists in rural Nepal, but in the long term DFN aims to improve the services available to remote and poor mountain communities by providing them with doctors from their own country and their own communities, providing a brighter future for so many vulnerable patients. DFN currently has three students, and aims to take on an extra one each year - for this they will need to raise about £6,000 a year for 5 years for the fees, books and living expenses of each student.
