The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Back in October I was chatting to my tutor group about a 100mile footrace along the river thames which I had entered. It begins in Richmond and travels up to Oxford. I have just 28hours to complete it.

Sure enough after a debate and a vote we decided we'd support MacMillan Cancer support. A very worth cause supporting both patients and their families faced with the unthinkable diagnosis that comes with cancer.

I have been lucky in that those close to me have never been affected by such a horrible condition. I am aware though that I am in the minority and many people of all ages and backgrounds can be affected by cancer with no warning or lifestyles which suggest they are increasing their risk.

I'm hoping with the support of those reading this we can together raise £200 +. Having that will help me push on through the night and get me to Oxford on Sunday 6th May.
