Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having just turned 50 I decided to direct my midlife crisis into something useful! I have always fancied tackling the London Marathon after many years of feeling the emotion of the event whilst watching on TV.

After a challenging 2018 with the loss of two close friends and my Dad, I finally decided this is the year. Being an orthopaedic surgeon, it felt right to run for the British Orthopaedic Association Joint Action charity who raise funds to support research into the treatment of musculoskeletal disease. As all my joints get progressively more painful there is clearly a selfish element to my fundraising!!

About the charity

Did you know there are over 20 million people in the UK living with a musculoskeletal condition? That’s about a third of the population. We help patients by raising funds for research to improve Orthopaedic treatment, restoring mobility and giving people back their freedom and independence.
