I consider myself very lucky to have had amazing grandparents, unfortunately none of them are with us today. They had dementia and the last years of their lives were incredibly difficult for them, myself and my family. They were the most loving, loyal and caring people I have ever known. I am so lucky that they were such a big part of my life. They cared for everyone around them and taught me a lot about compassion. I wouldn't want anyone to suffer in the same way that my grandparents did and hope that funds raised for Alzheimer's Society will support dementia patients and their families.
