Story

Mid Suffolk Memorial Walk 2022

On Remembrance Sunday 13th of November 2022, Paul Cook, Lee Shave and Jonathan Calver from Lazy Company living history will attempt a 23 mile Memorial walk around Mid-Suffolk raising funds for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, the route will see us departing from the Stowmarket Memorial gates @ 03:30 hours and walk the 23 mile route returning to the Memorial gates before 10:45hrs in time for the 11:00hrs service of remembrance. 


Our route will visit the following 11 war memorials, placing a wooden Poppy Cross at each location as an act of remembrance and then placing the final 12th cross at the Stowmarket Memorial to signify completion.

Starting point  Stowmarket Memorial gates- Finborough road 
Haughley Church - The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Wetherden Church - St Mary's, 
Elmswell Church - St John's, 
Woolpit Memorial - Green road,
Shelland Church - King Charles the Martyr,
Harleston Church - St Augustine's,
Onehouse Church - St John the Baptist,
Great Finborough Church - St Andrew's,
Buxhall Church - St Mary's
Combs Church - St Mary's
Badley Church - St Mary's
Stowmarket Memorial gates - Finborough road.

Our target is to raise £500 all money raised will be donated to the Poppy Appeal.
