Help the Animals of Australia - Donate to WIRES · 12 January 2020

WIRES, the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 35 years. Our mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same. We have over 4000 volunteers in 28 branches.

Story

In Kindergarten, we are learning about animals and habitats. We have learned how animals can be affected by changes in their habitat- for better or for worse. Unfortunately, when disasters strike, the impact on animals can be horrific. As you have seen and heard on the news, Australia has been devastated by the bush fires- burning millions and millions of acres of bush, forest, and parks. It has been estimated it might be close to 1 billion animals that have been killed due to the fires.

One of my students, Gregory Everson, was very concerned and wanted to know how he could help. So together, as a class, we discussed what was happening and decided we NEEDED to do something. The class brainstormed ideas and decided we would like to raise money for the organization WIRES to help rescue sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

Please consider supporting our cause by making a donation. Help these five and six year olds make a positive impact on a tragic event.

In the words of Gregory, "We might be little, but we can make a big difference!"
