Briony Morris is raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society

MS Society Solihull · 23 November 2020

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological condition affecting the brain and spinal cord causing a range of symptoms including impaired mobility and cognition, pain and fatigue. The MS Society Solihull is a local charity which supports those directly affected by MS and their families .

Our group enables those living with MS in Solihull to access support and advice they may need. Our volunteers all have a personal experience of MS and a wealth of knowledge on what is available within our local community to support our members needs.

Pre the Covid 19 pandemic the group offered weekly social meetings, exercise classesand regular trips and outings to ensure our members experienced the best possiblequality of life. Since April we have moved our exercise classes online and kept in touch with our members while we all hope for a vaccine and normality to resume.

But all this is only possible with the amazing donations that we receive. During Covid ourincome, which mainly comes from street collections, fundraising and sponsorships, has been hit hard.  With the increase in use of online and virtual platforms, we have set up this JustGiving page to enable us to fundraise and collect donations online.

We are a local branch of the national MS Society but do not receive any funding from them. Everything we raise locally we spend locally providing support to those affected by MS in our area.
