We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

In 1965, my Grandad was in the first kayak to make the 28 mile  journey across Atlantic waters from the Scilly Isles to Land’s End.  This year I am hoping to be the youngest person to do the same journey in a single kayak and raise some funds for Parkinson’s disease.

My Dad and I are making the open ocean paddle in two separate sea kayaks so that all 3 generations will have made the crossing. We’ve been training together for a year in order to give us the best chance possible as we will not have a support boat.  Planning the departure is changing daily as we are reliant on the weather.  At the moment we’re due to make the crossing on Friday 23rd August.

We are raising money for Parkinson’s UK.  Every hour, two people in the UK are told they have Parkinson’s.  Parkinson’s UK fund ground breaking research into finding a cure for Parkinson’s and support both sufferers and their families with information and advice.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
