Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My partner Jen and I are taking part in the Rust 2 Rome Swiss Alps banger rally in June 2022. We have decided that during this trip, we would like to raise money for the Archie Foundation. As part of my role as a Pharmaceutical Delivery Driver, I deliver paediatric medicines to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Seeing the children looking out of the windows with their families made me want to do something to help, plus Jen's son was in neonatal ICU for the first two weeks of his life, and this gives her the opportunity to give something back.

The Archie Foundation a children's charity that covers Aberdeen, Tayside and the Highlands exists to make the difference in healthcare and bereavement for local children and their families. We do this by working in partnership with the NHS and other child development and childcare professionals including, but not limited to, those working in the education and social work sector. Welcome to The Archie Foundation - The ARCHIE Foundation - Home

The Rust 2 Rome rallies were founded and organised by Marko Fleming. The concept is that teams take part in this organised rally, departing from the Queensferry Crossing near Edinburgh, arriving in Rome via the Swiss Alps 8 days later....... driving a car that costs £500 or LESS!! We are taking part in our 2006 Volvo S40, named 'Georgy Girl' which we purchased for £400. under the team name of "2 Muppets in a Meatball" with our Highland Cow mascot, 'Archie'

I am covering the costs of the trip, and so ALL monies donated here go directly to the charity.

The trip covers a round trip distance of 3700 miles and we are aiming to raise £1 per mile for the charity, therefore our target is £3700, but any money raised would be greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
