Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sometimes its good to say no, I have certainly learned the hard way when I joked I would run the Yeovil Half Marathon and then my girlfriend called my bluff and signed me up. To be fair to her, she will be running it with me. My first and probably only half marathon will be undertaken in the town I grew up and running up and down hills which I am assured I will find fun.

Running constantly for 2 1/2 hours has never excited me and not something I really want to do and as I am finding out, is actually quite difficult. Anyway, I have taken the challenge on and I will do my best to complete it in the best possible time and I am trying to raise £1300 (£100 for every mile). Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

I am raising money for Homelink Day Respite Centre in Whitton which is Fulwell Golf Club's Captain's Charity for the year. Homelink is a nurse-led day respite care centre for adults staffed by qualified nurses and trained volunteers. They are always on hand to give clients help and to take care of a wide variety of clients’ individual needs and to build good relationships.

We are here to give carers a well earned day’s respite each week, secure in the knowledge that the person they look after is receiving care of the very highest standard. We provide a happy and vibrant environment where people can enjoy each other's company while they are cared for and supported. This leaves their carers free to have a break from what can be an exhausting and stressful daily routine.
