London to Brighton Ultra Challenge · 28 May 2022 to 29 May 2022 ·

Changing lives through the power of cricket! We are taking on this challenge to raise vital funds to support the continued growth of Walking Cricket in Sussex.

Story

As the charitable arm of Sussex Cricket, Sussex Cricket Foundation aim to change lives through the power of cricket! As a team, Steve Pickup, Jo Noble, Emma Brooke and Murray Hicks will be taking on the 100km London to Brighton Ultra Challenge at the end of May to raise funds for Walking Cricket clubs in Sussex.

Walking Cricket clubs are a fantastic way to stay active in later life and are are incredibly popular. In addition to keeping fit these clubs also provide an opportunity to meet new people, make friends and have fun. All the money raised will go towards supporting our existing clubs and provide an opportunity to fund new clubs across the county. There are huge benefits to both physical and mental health by staying active throughout life and we at Sussex Cricket Foundation want to be able to provide as many opportunities as we can for those wishing to take part in Walking Cricket.

During the pandemic we had to stop all our Walking Cricket clubs, some restarted last year but many are only just re-starting now after almost 2 years. Walking Cricket means so much to those that attend.
