Daisy's Story from Tough Mudder 2015:

"In February this year I lost my best friend and partner Daniel. He was the funniest and most caring person you could meet. The life and soul of anywhere he went. Training to be a nurse he had such a way with people that he could put anyone at ease with his jokes and cheeky smile. "Be grumpy with the old men and cheeky to the old ladies"

Words can't explain the emptiness of losing someone that your world revolves around. All that you knew is swept from under your feet and you're just falling. Daniel and I have been together from the age of 15 and it's beyond difficult to adjust when that's the only life you know.

CRY have helped me so much after Daniel's death. They have helped me to understand what has happened and have provided me with someone to talk to when no one else would. They have been a beacon of light in the darkness and are truly a fantastic charity. They campaign to raise awareness for Cardiac risk in the young so more people like Daniel stand a better chance. I wish to support them in this and help them keep providing the amazing help and support to those left behind after the loss of a loved one.

For Daniel's 24th birthday this year I brought him a ticket to Tough Mudder. He had been going on about wanting to do it as a focus and bit of fun to help him in his fitness journey. After he found out he was ecstatic, so full of enthusiasm so full of life. Just 2 weeks later I found Daniel passed away after a heart attack. 

Every week in the UK at least 12 healthy young people die unexpectedly from undiagnosed heart conditions. Together in raising awareness we can help people to detect, live with and survive potentially fatal heart conditions. 

I know Daniel would want me to carry on. I know he would want me to do it for him, so I'll do one better and do it in honour of him.
