Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page in support of the people of Yemen.

OUR MISSION

We are three friends wishing to raise money for Yemen amid the humanitarian crisis caused by famine, war and poverty. We live in England recognise that we are blessed to have the privilege to drink water from our taps and eat food when we feel hungry. We are extremely saddened by the crisis in Yemen and feel it is our duty to offer a helping hand towards those in need through by raising money. We have all engaged in a range of charitable activities in our individual personal lives and as muslim friends.

We recognise it is important to practice and stay true to our charitable duty together. We have decided to raise as much money for Yemen and feed as many families as possible and are looking for donations from as little as £5 to reach our target of raising £1000 before Eid ul Adha. This small sacrifice can help those facing poverty, desperation and starvation. Hopefully with your help we will be able to help feed and aid Yemani families who are most deprived and in need.

We are raising money on this platform but will also be doing a sponsored walk and auctioning home made Islamic paintings to try and increase funds to send to Yemen.

WHY YEMEN?

Yemen currently has the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world. One child dies every 10 minutes. 24 million are in dire need of humanitarian aid that is the equivalent to 80% of the population. 19 million internally displaced and 2 million children (under 5) severely malnourished and require life saving treatment.

The famine in Yemen is said to become the worst one in 100 years. And it continues to get worse. 70% of the population are going hungry. 10 million are also a step away from famine.

Saudi Arabia (with support from the US, UK and France) has been bombing Yemen in order to get rid of the Houthi Rebels. This has led to deterioration of Yemens situation, as well as the death of many civilians.

The Saudi Military coalition currently has a blockade on Yemen's sea, air and land ports which stops aid from coming in. This ongoing blockade has created a "new crisis" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Yemen has been experiencing bad floods that have torn down homes, destroyed food supplies and killed people. These floods have contributed to the spread of coronavirus and other diseases.

OUR FAITH IN GOD AND IN YOUR CHARITY:

We are raising money at this very important time to help our Muslim brothers and sisters who are struggling to survive. As Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) said wisely "The best of you are those who feed others". So let us be the best we can be and help to feed these people who are most in need. Please remember that when we give someone charity we need to be thankful to them too. We may be helping their Dunya, but they are fixing you Akhira.
