My Nan Blore has been suffering from Alzheimer's for over 10 years and it's been heartbreaking to see her slowly become a person I don't know, I haven't seen her for 7 years, because I want to remember her the way she used to be. The reason why I'm doing this is to give something back to the Alzheimer's specialists she's been seen by and in a way say thankyou for all the work they're doing to try and stop this disease and understand why it happens, I'm also doing it because my Nan is a great woman and I want to show her how much I love and appreciate her. In addition to this, my partners dad was diagnosed with Lewi Body Dementia this year, a combination of Alzheimer's and Parkinsons, it's hit my partner and his family hard and I know that if we can raise money to help the Alzheimer's Society, it would give them hope for a future without Alzheimer's and dementia. Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it’s the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
