Story
My nana (Anita Hatton) was my best friend and always will be she had a special place in my heart.
I was fortunate enough to know my nana before she had this tragic illness and throughout knowing her having the illness on the outside she remained the same (although a little more forgetful and asking the same questions but that never mattered) Nana was still the most caring, loving and kind women I have ever known. However on the inside we all knew she was hurting, she was feeling lost and confused which left her feeling upset which was so painful thing to see.
Watching all of the sadness it brought to everyone around her was just unbearable. We were loosing parts of nana day by day whilst the dementia got worse and worse. This illness is far more common than many people realise and we need to do our best to help find some kind of cure and put a stop to it!
So I'm doing this walk in memory of my Nana as I know if she were still here she would be alongside me doing it as all she would ever want to do is help and care for others. Please donate, anything will be beneficial. It so close to mine and my families heart also to many others suffering with this right now.❤️
