My wonderful Mum spent years caring for the elderly in residential homes where many had a diagnosis of dementia. But whilst my Mum was very experienced in managing the effects of dementia in her working life, she was left devastated as it forced itself into our world and when my Grandad, the man who she idolised, lost his brave battle with this awful disease in January 2016. Sadly this contributed to my Mums broken heart and she passed away suddenly in July 2017.

Dementia will always be a cause close to our hearts and we have decided to continue to raise both awareness and money in memory of my Grandad and my Mum by taking part in Manchesters 2018 memory walk for the Alzheimer's Society.

I know it's a relatively short walk but we would greatly appreciate any donations as every penny will contribute towards beating this horrible disease. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society.
