Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year, that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. My Mum first started displaying symptoms 9 years ago but it took several more years to get a clear diagnosis. It is very frustrating and frightening for the sufferer initially and painful for family members to witness as the condition progresses.  This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia.
