The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

Save the UK's Charities. General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income.

This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

I have chosen Wiltshire Wildlife Trust because, not only do I work there, I believe in its work. During these times we have cancelled vital events, raising funds for nature and nurture. I suffer with mental health problems and know what nature does to help me, and my family. I appreciate its impact on my stress levels. I know its importance to our food production, our water supplies and its wider impact on Climate Change.

If you want to feel good, take note of the smaller things. How may people during lock-down are benefiting from gardening and appreciating their daily exercise far more than before? I want everyone to have a haven, to see birds, bees and various flora & fauna, on their doorstep. It's good for the mind and the body.

About the charity

Wiltshire has some of the most wildlife-rich places in the UK, and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust needs your help to make sure it stays that way. Together we can protect, conserve and enhance this wonderful county in which we live, work and play not just for wildlife but for people too.
