Story
I completed 416 flights on Sunday 26th and am so inspired by my fabulous supporters that I am going to keep climbing this week with the aim of completing another 991 flights by Sunday 3rd May! This will give me a cumulative total (including last week’s training) equivalent to the peak of Kilimanjaro!
I'm delighted to be taking part in the 2.6 challenge! My alter ego, aka the GAGA Lion was planning to take part in the Rotary Shakespeare Half Marathon on Sunday 26th April, so instead the GAGA Lion will now climb my 2.6m staircase (13 steps 200mm risers) as many times as possible in 2.6 hours! Starting at 10 am on Sunday 26th April 2020 I'll be sharing the event on Facebook Live! The money raised will go to support our beneficiary projects in southern Africa who are facing particular challenges with the lockdown in rural communities. As schools are closed and access to foodstuffs is limited due to travel restrictions many people, who already live hand to mouth, are experiencing severe deprivation and risking malnutrition. Our projects are responding by providing food parcels to child headed and other vulnerable households and a donation of £5 could mean that a family can feed itself for three days with a package of rice, beans and vegetables.
