The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

Before lockdown I was a 'gym bunny' as an active member of the Wilmslow Leisure Centre's Active Hearts group. When the leisure centre closed I was encouraged by my wife to try running and started on a Couch 25K app. Unfortunately my running career was cut short due to pain in my knee. But now I'm dusting off my running shoes to run for 26 minutes (my longest ever!) for the Animal Sanctuary.

The Animal Sanctuary is caring for about 80 animals at the moment, all of which need food, medicines and other veterinary care. The Sanctuary's income has been badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic because adoptions have stopped and several fundraising events have had to be cancelled. On top of that they have had to employ a temporary member of staff as they normally depend upon volunteers.

The Sanctuary is very dear to my heart, so please help me to support them and sponsor my run.

Thank you
