The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

The people who live at The Grange and our Cranbrook services have support needs which are met in many ways by various charitable organisations.

We are taking part in the 2.6 challenge to raise awareness, give back and have some brilliant fun along the way.

There is something for everyone to be able to take part in.

Residents activities will include:

  • A 26 over Cricket Match - we're going the whole hog, cucumber sandwiches etc
  • Walking Challenge - 26 laps of the village green (8.84 miles) undertaken in a relay. In line with social distancing
  • 26 Circuit Workout - 26 seconds on, 34 second rest
  • 2.6km on the exercise bike
  • 2.6 mile bike ride in local woods (in line with social distancing)
  • Sylvia will be completing 26 minutes on her exercise bike 26 times over 5 days
  • Sandra will be completing 26 minutes of Just Dance for 5 days

Staff Challenges

  • Felicity and Ed will both run 26 miles over the challenge period.  This will also include Felicity's son on his bike!
  • Sarah and her family are completing 26 sets of a 72 step staircase in a local conservation area.  They might even aim to do it twice which would make it a combined effort of climbing Snowdon!

Please help our residents, and staff enthusiasm by donating towards their achievements.

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
