Story

Hi!!

With just one week to train, plan and fundraise I’m going to walk, jog and caffeinate my way through 26 hours on a treadmill.

Covid-19 is a frightening health crisis and it is creating a devastating economic crisis. We’ve already seen that young people, women and those in entry-level roles, on the lowest wages and living in the most deprived communities are being hardest hit. Unemployment is sky-rocketing and social inequality will get worse. I don’t believe it has to be that way and I believe that charities are the organisations to help society get through this and be stronger and more inclusive in the future.

  • Starting: Saturday, 25 April at 8am BST
  • (Finally) finishing: Sunday, 26 April at 11am BST

I’ll give myself 60 minutes to use across the 26 hours for comfort breaks, stretching and cat naps.

Street League is the UK’s leading sport for employment charity, using the power of sport to help thousands of young people move into work.

Well Grounded is an award-winning social enterprise that helps vulnerable adults work and thrive in the specialty coffee industry. (http://wellgroundedjobs.co.uk, @WellGroundedHQ)

I’m going to split all funds raised 50/50. Both organisations continue to deliver critical services despite the lockdown and urgently need funding to achieve their missions.
