Story

I should have been running the London Marathon on 26th April but as it is delayed until October I shall be shaving my head (which will be at least 26.2cm of hair!) on 26th April instead!

Rare Dementia Support have supported me, my family and many of my friends who come from families that are affected by rare forms of dementia and are continuing to do so in creative ways during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Save the UK's Charities

General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income.

This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

About the charity

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.
