Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
As those who know me are aware, when I was 10-years-old I was diagnosed with Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy, which has had a significant impact on my vision. Although I like to stay positive and have not let my sight loss hold me back, my journey has not been without its hurdles. Right now, I know these hurdles are only increasing for many blind and partially sighted people, who need our help more than ever during the Covid-19 crisis.
Blind and partially sighted people are falling through gaps at this time of social distancing. They are not included in the ‘vulnerable’ government categories and as such, receive little protection and support during this time. Reports of loneliness are higher than ever before and essential tasks such as food shopping have become almost impossible for many people with sight loss, who are unable to ask for guiding assistance due to social distancing rules.
That is why I have decided to take on the #TwoPointSixChallenge in support of a sight loss charity close to my heart, the Vision Foundation. In the next 26 days, I will be running the length of the M25 (yes, 117-miles!) to raise as much as I can to rebuild lives, strengthen sight loss services and ensure blind and partially sighted people, like myself, are not forgotten at this time of social distancing.
I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me for this running challenge. Not only is this a huge challenge for me, but by donating you will be making a direct and positive impact on many lives. Thank you!
